Recap[]

3:30PM on a Tuesday

Charlie is about to break the world record for longest time spent holding your breath. Mac is videotaping it, hoping that they can send it in and get famous and Frank is busy making chicken. When the chicken spills, it hits Charlie causing him to start breathing again, angering Mac. A woman enters the apartment, stating that due to over-crowding, the local prison has been forced to release 25% of its inmates. Mac is ecstatic; his dad was there, and he is hoping that he was released. The woman gives them flyers with pictures of a child molester named Wendell Albright, in the hopes that by raising awareness of him, they can drive him out of the neighbourhood. Charlie takes a look at the flyer and dismisses it but then double-takes: the man in the photo looks just like Dennis.

At the bar, Dennis is shown the flyers, claiming that he does not look like Wendell. Everyone else disagrees. Just then, Luther MacDonald comes in, making Mac happy to find out that he was released after all. Mac introduces him to everyone and Luther mistakes Dennis for Wendell. Luther is looking for a job, so Charlie suggests they hire him as a bouncer, but Dee is against this, fearing for their safety. Mac asks Luther if they could do some "father-son" stuff like have a catch, but Luther is not interested. What he is interested in is visiting some people he needs to see, and suggests that Mac can be the driver.

Dennis and Dee are strolling down the street. Dee tells Dennis she does not want Luther working at the bar, but Dennis isn't listening to her. Suddenly, a woman walks by and calls Dennis "asshole". While discussing, two more women walk by and call him "pervert" and "dickhead". Dennis inquires about what just happened, and Dee suddenly notices a wall covered in flyers for Albright.

Meanwhile, Frank decides he wants to leave the apartment, and has a guy taking stuff from it. He reveals that he wants a maid that he can bang. Charlie is clearly upset, but Frank tells him to deal with it. He also tells him that the "bang maid" he wants is Charlie's mom, Bonnie. Luther has just finished visiting one of the people on his list. Mac, curious on what he was doing there for thirty minutes, asks what he was doing, but he tells him he was just "keeping up with his correspondence" and that "there was a bit of a struggle" but everything worked out. Mac suggests they find hot dates for themselves, but Luther shoots this idea down. Mac then suggests they go to Cooperstown, New York, citing a dream to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame with his dad. He asks if this is something he wants to do with him, but he just tells him to start the car

Dennis and Dee are at a park; in order to hide his identity, Dennis has a glue-on mustache. They have just formulated a plan to prove he is not Wendell. The first step is to prove that he has a great body, so Dee asks him to pop his shirt off. She suggests that he goes up to the kids at the playground and teach them all about physical fitness, showing that he cares about them. Dee talks to the dads at the park, saying she is working with a program that assimilates convicted molesters into the neighbourhood. The dads don't seem to buy this, so Dee leaves resulting in the dads ganging up on Dennis and beating him up.

Mac is on the phone with Frank, trying to invite him over for a dinner party. After hearing that this party will be held to celebrate his new relationship, Frank asks if he can bring Bonnie. Mac says yes. Meanwhile on the other line, Mac is buying food at the store. Charlie is siphoning boxed wine, in the hopes that if they get Luther drunk enough, he will see past the looks of Mac's mom and fall in love with her all over again. He laso hopes to get his own mom drunk, knowing she will act belligerent and mean, forcing Frank to go back to Charlie.

At Dee's place she is treating Dennis' injuries. She asks him to call Mac, but Dennis refuses to do it, beginning to think that she let him get his ass kicked on purpose. Dee is offended and presses for him to call Mac. He refuses again, because Dee is not helping him at all with the situation. He decides instead to call Luther, telling him that Dee is available. Dee breaks, saying that as soon as his name is cleared, he has to help her.

Mac has just fixed up his mom, so she looks nice for the party. Charlie calls Mac to help him in the kitchen. Luther arrives. Mac asks Luther if Mrs. Mac looks pretty, but he says no. Frank and Bonnie arrive and take their coats off. Charlie enters the room, announcing that dinner is ready. At dinner, Mac compliments the meal, while calls it "crap". The nice party soon devolves into an argument between Frank and Charlie, with Charlie claiming does not know what Bonnie wants. Charlie knows what Frank wants and asks if he can give it to him.

Mac tries to change the situation by asking Luther to tell them a story from prison or from Mac's childhood. Bonnie is excited to hear Luther has been in prison. This too, devolves into another fight with Charlie saying that Luther would need a woman and Bonnie would be right for him. Charlie also tells her about Luther's features such as the drug incident and his blue eyes.

Charlie starts arguing with Frank saying that the whole dinner was planned so that they can get back together. Mac denies this saying it was about reconnecting his parents, so that he could finally have a normal life. Luther decides he should give Bonnie a call sometime, angering Frank. Mac blames this on Charlie and swears never to forgive him.

Meanwhile, Dennis and Dee have decided to pay Albright himself a visit. Dennis explains the situation, telling him to leave so he can live his life peacefully. Wendell refuses saying that with the heat on Dennis, he has a pretty sweet deal and can live his life normally. Dee asks a boy named Timmy to come in. Dennis asks him to recite the courtroom speech they have prepared. Timmy recites it, mentioning movies with full nudity, juice boxes that make him sleepy, being ticklish, making him taste things he does not want to, putting things in his heinie, etc. Wendell is finally convinced to leave.

In the car, Luther and Charlie agree that the dinner party was nice. Luther visits another man on his list. Charlie finds this weird, so Mac takes a look at the list. Charlie falls under the suspicion that he is killing the people on the list. Mac claims this to be false telling Charlie that Luther said that "these are people from his past and that he's got to take care of them and once he takes care of them he's gonna take care of me". After saying this, Mac double-takes, realizing that he is gonna kill him. And Charlie too, after finding his name on the list as well. Charlie believes that the reason he is on the list is that Luther probably got angry after the heroin incident did not work out. They drive off in fear.

The next morning, Dennis and Dee arrive at Frank and Charlie's apartment. Mac and Charlie are in there, once again attempting to break the breathing record. Dennis informs Mac that Wendell is gone and his problems are solved. Dee tells Mac that she does not want Luther working at the bar. mac replies that he feels the same way, telling them what they were doing and that he wants to kill him and Charlie. After hearing that they stole his car, Dennis sides with Mac and Dee. He tells Mac to call the police.

The Gang arrives at Bonnie's place where Luther is being led into a cop car. Bonnie is upset and Charlie tells her never to take Frank away from him again. Mac informs the police officer nearby that Luther has been killing the people on his list. However, the policeman reveals that they were not being killed; Luther was instead making amends with them. He also reveals that they are arresting him because he planned to violate his parole after he was caught buying airline tickets to New York. The tickets were for him, Mac and Charlie as he had decided to make amends with them by taking them to the Baseball Hall of Fame just as Mac wanted to do earlier.

Mac goes up to the car and apologizes to Luther, saying that he wasn't gonna kill him because he is his son. Luther chuckles and before the police car drives away, he tells Mac "I wasn't gonna kill you. But I'm going to now. [...] Yeah, as soon as I get out, I'm gonna kill you".

  • During the dinner, Charlie says to his mom "this might appeal to the whore in you!" he's still offended due to her old affair with Frank and unsuccessful abortion from "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby" earlier in season 3. But later, in season 6's "A Very Sunny Christmas", Charlie finds out that she was a prostitute for real.

  • The park scene appears to be filmed in Kenneth Hahn Park in Los Angeles.

  • Dennis and Dee are walking down Bainbridge Street in Philadelphia when Dennis is verbally accosted by multiple women mistaking him for Wendell Albright.
  • Katie McElhenney, sister of Rob, plays the woman who calls Dennis an "asshole". This is her only appearance to date on the show.
